John D. Barrett II Chairman, CEO
John Barrett is Chairman of the Board, CEO and a Portfolio Manager. He has been with Barrett Associates since 1970. Prior to joining the firm, John was a Vice President and Director of Clark, Dodge & Co., an investment banking firm. He was active in the research and sales departments at Clark, Dodge and was responsible for the management of the portfolios of many of the firm's major institutional and individual clients including banks, mutual funds, pension funds, foundations and insurance companies.
John received a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University in 1957 and an M.B.A. in Finance from the New York University Stern School of Business in 1963. John is a former Director of the Morgan Stanley Asia-Pacific Fund, Inc. and an Honorary Director of Ashforth Properties, Inc.
He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Greenwich Hospital Association and of the Greenwich Country Day School, both of Greenwich, Connecticut.
